should racestats be a stand alone program? - 2005/11/10 13:52 Several people have an interest in the racestats program. Although it was originally being developed for use on Mambo CMS web sites, others interested are using static pages, phpnuke, postnuke, and many other types of dynamic web sites. This creates a problem with the many different versions that would need to be developed to support the different web sites.

Do you think that having the racestats program as a standalone php program would be better since it would support any web site irregardless of being static or dynamic?

Please post your comments here in this thread......I plan on picking up development of this within the next few weeks and really want to get something out that is functional and usable by everyone.

yes, iframe in static, phpnuke, and postnuke and wrapper in mambo. Im sure others support iframes or wrappers....

admin would be a seperate backend, it could be secured not only with username/password combination but also by locking the entire directory.

Re:should racestats be a stand alone program? - 2005/11/14 18:17 Thanks for the quick response. I have one other question for you.

I have been playing around with the work you have done so far for Mambo/Joomla, and made some changes to the look and feel of the backend. I have notified you of some of the changes in a previous post as it relates to the list select box limits. Since then, I have made a few more that are a little more in depth. (i.e. adding to some of the db tables, etc.) What I am wondering, is if you mind me doing this? I haven't really commented my changes, since I was testing and playing around with the base code. I never plan on making my changes public to anyone else other than yourself. I can show you some screen shots if your interested.

the code is copyleft under the gpl license ( I stated that in the beta release....I think), so you can change it to suit your needs, modify it however you want. If you would like to share your changes, I will see if they can be incorporated into the codebase.

The full gpl copyleft is here for those that do not know what it means - http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/copyleft.html
