IP Deny Manager FAQ - 2006/07/05 15:14 The IP Deny Manager enables you to block access to your web site from specific IP addresses. This is useful to remove nuisance surfers who use a large amount of bandwidth or to prevent hotlinking to your site (refer to HotLink Prevention for more information about hotlinking). It is also useful if you have someone abusing your web site.

Note: The IP Deny Manager is not guaranteed to block a person who is able to obtain a new IP address (such as dial-up users or those who are on broadband that can renew IP addresses). However, it works great for most domains who are linking to files on your web site or for users who are on static ip addresses. This is the simplist way to try first in blocking users from your web site.

To add an IP address to the IP Deny Manager:

  • Click on the IP Deny Manager button on the home page.

  • Enter the IP address that you want to block in the IP Address field.

  • Click on the Add button.

  • To delete a blocked ip address:
Remove a blocked IP address when you no longer need to prevent access from that IP address.
  • Click on the IP Deny Manager button on the home page.

  • Click on the required IP address from the Remove an IP Deny drop-down list.

  • Click on the Remove button.
