dreamweaver and mysql + php + cpanel - 2006/12/15 02:17
Here are the settings you need to be able to use Dreamweaver with cpanel, mysql, and php. If you don't need mysql or php, just leave those sections out.
Remote Info: Access: FTP FTP Host: ftp.domainname.com Host Directory: public_html (this is the folder that your site loads to) Login: ********* Password: ********* Passive FTP Box is checked!
Testing Server: Server Model: PHP/MySQL Access: FTP FTP Host: ftp.domainname.com Host Directory: public_html Login: ********* Password: ********* Passive FTP box is checked! Url Prefix: http://www.domainname.com
MySQL Connections Dialog Box: Connection Name: (whatever you name your connection) MySQL Server: domainname.com, localhost, or 127.0.0.1 User Name: (a user that has access to MySQL)You create these and add them to the database in cpanel Password: ******* Database: (you have to specify one of your DBs) Again create this in cpanel mysql area also add your ip address or % to your allowed ip access list. in the mysql section of cpanel.
Different versions of dreamweaver handle these connection settings differently, but this seems to be the most common being used among our users. Frontpage is different, and so is Golive or others. However, the settings are probably similar between development environments. If you have questions, submit a support ticket at http://support.xtremewebhosts.com
