Visitors using IE7 may have problem visiting sites - 2007/03/17 18:04
After many complaints when the initial release of Internet Explorer 7 came out that caused some visitors to web sites we host to not be able to view those web sites, it was determined the problems were with IE7 and your specific programming practices and not our hosting services. For a reference, please see here:
IE7 Tips for Webmasters
Well, now after the release of Vista, these same or very similar issues are re-appearing. Again, this is due to specific code used in Vista and IE7.
You will find that visitors using IE6, IE5, Firefox, or any other web browser that is not IE7 will not have this issues. We don't want to discourage people from upgrading to IE7, but any problems they have are not due to our web hosting services. They are due to programming practices, possibly yours if you are using static content pages or if you are using a CMS and using stylesheets...or it may be a bug in the CMS you are using.
Fore instance, Joomla and Mambo have both released patches or updates to address issues with these two CMS's and IE7.
IF you have visitors experiencing problems on your web site and they are using IE7, please have a close look at your stylesheets and also look at the link we posted above which has fixes specific to IE7. If you still need assistance, then submit a trouble ticket. Support for code issues are billable at our normal support rates.
